Virtual Career Fair

For this assignment, I was not sure what exactly you wanted. I did some research and spoke to a few people and this is what I came up with;
The first place of employment was at Utah Valley hospital which is an IHC hospital. The following are the questions I asked /researched and their answers:
1. What types of job opportunities does the company offer? IHC offers jobs that range from working in the cafeteria and doing laundry/housekeeping to being a nurse, doctor, and surgeon.
2. What kind of educational background and/or personality type is the company looking for? Depending on the job that I would be applying for, I could need as little as no schooling to medical schooling. For any job a person must be CPR certified. I currently am so that is one that I would not need. To be a RN I would need the state licensure.
3. Does the company offer internships? yes
4. Is this a career opportunity you would be interested in pursuing sometime in the future? Yes. Why or why not? I know people who work there and they have had great experiences there.
For the second place I looked into the Morningstar hospitals. The following are the questions I asked /researched and their answers:
1. What types of job opportunities does the company offer? This company too range jobs from housekeeping to Physicians
2. What kind of educational background and/or personality type is the company looking for? They are looking for licensed RNs who work well together and can become a productive member of their “family” or team and dedicated to healthcare.
3. Does the company offer internships? The person I spoke to said yes.
4. Is this a career opportunity you would be interested in pursuing sometime in the future? Yes. Why or why not? Because it seems to cover what I would love in this career.
The third place is as an EMT through Spanish Fork City. The following are the questions I asked /researched and their answers:
1. What types of job opportunities does the company offer? On call Emergency Medical Technician.
2. What kind of educational background and/or personality type is the company looking for? Reliable people who have a passion for helping people and can be committed to this field.
3. Does the company offer internships? No- you can do a ride along though.
4. Is this a career opportunity you would be interested in pursuing sometime in the future? Yes. Why or why not? Not only am I interested in emergency medicine, they will pay for my training!
What are the top 5 skills that employers are looking for? Analytical, communication, people person, teamwork, and strong work ethic are the top 5 skills.

Elevator Speech

Hello. My name is Marva Johnson and am currently attending Utah Valley University to gain the schooling that I need to become a nurse that specializes in emergency medicine. I will have my first EMT certification in December and all of this while also being a wife and mother of three. I am interested in becomeing a part of your team at that time. I have a love for people and enjoy helping them. I multi-task well and enjoy a fast paced work enviroment. I know that not only will I benifit from this experience but, I will be a great asset to your emergency room.

The strengths of my major is as follows;
-I think that the most important benifit this major will have for me is providing for my family.
-Nurses will always be needed
-I love helping people. This will allow mw to do it full time.
-I am passionate about this major because I feel I will be good at it
The weaknesses of my major is as follows;
-This major will take me away from my family while I am going to school quite a bit.
-I feel that if I do not get into a branch of nursing that doesn't I appeal to me it may be hard to enjoy.
Opportunies that my career can bring me;
-I will have a good chance of finding a job.
-I have will be able to heplp people on or off the clock
-I have family members who are in the medical feild and will help when I ask for it.
